Anita's Diary

July 1, 1961:
It is now a new month and Anita has promised herself to write more in her diary because it makes her fell like things are not as bad as they look and she has also promised herself to hide her diary. The night before, the SIM appeared and she left her diary in the floor! if someone sees it it would be like finding her.

July 4, 1961:
Someone starts to throw pebbles at the bathroom window and when Anita looks out the window she discovers that it is Oscar. Maybe he knows that she is there since he entered the bathroom the night before and stopped in the place where she was and then he left. She threw the Queen of Hearts(card), which is what made Oscar stop in the place she was, through the window.

July 6, 1961:
Since Anita has been asking Tía Mari for a book, she brought her The Arabian Nights that was recommended by Oscar when Tía Mari asked him what book would he recommend to someone his age. Inside, Oscar had secretly put the Queen of Hearts as a book mark.

Chapter 17

In chapter 17, What happens in that Huck's, Tom's and Joe's families and friends gathered and went to their funeral. They were all feeling very bad. Becky was there and she started crying because she felt sad that Tom had "died" and she felt very guilty for rejecting him. Also, other boys were talking in a good way about Joe, Tom, and Huck. They shared the last time they saw all of them. The next morning, at church, Aunt Polly, Mary, Sid and the Harper family were all in black. The sat at the chairs and the minister began talking about the three of the boys. Suddenly, Tom, Joe, and Huck entered to the church! Everyone was happy and They were hugging each other. The last line of the chapter was:"Tom got more cuffs and kisses that day-according to Aunt Polly’s varying moods- than he had earned before in a year; and he hardly knew which expressed the most gratefulness to God and affection for himself." This means that Aunt Polly was nice to him that day more than ever in a long time. That she got mad of what he did sometimes but she still treated him very good. Also that he didn't know if he was either gratefull to him or to God, but he knew that she was very gracefull that his little boy had come back.

The Cure for Tom's Depression

In Tom Sawyers, as he is said to be sick, his aunt gives him a series of medicine that seems not to work. I think that they don't work because he isn't actually sick. He is sick in a way that his heart is broken. He is in a great depression and he doesn't really know what to do or how to feel. It is really caused by both what his aunt told him and with Becky broken up with him. It made him feel like his life had no sense anymore. I think it is realistic. Sometimes when you feel like your life is a mess and there is nothing else to do in life more than being miserable, you try with medicine thinking that it might just be a cold or something. The only cure, as my way of seeing it, is to realise what is happening and to try to fix everything. If it doesn't work, the best you can do is forgive and forget...

My Embarrasing Moment

One day, I went to my friends Annie's house. We were having lots of fun and we decided to go rent a movie. When we got there, me and my friends Vivian and Cecilia went with me to see some movies. In one of the movie shelfs, there was a movie I love called P.S. I Love You. I saw and I got very exited. I grabed it wildly and by the movement, ALL the movies of the shelf fell to the floor! I went low and started running with Cecilia and we left Vivian alone and everyone thought it had been her because she had stayed there watching the movies fall. EVERYONE was laughing so much and the ladys that worked there got so mad. I was so embarassed and just wanted to disapear! Everyone was looking at me in an odd way!

Question #1 - Tom Sawyer

According to what I know about Tom Sawyer in the book we are reading, I really wouldn't want to be friends with him. He is a very fun person. He does things I would like to do, but i wouldn't learn and I know that at some point he would take advantage of me and make me do things he wants me to do. He really is a smart kid and he could trick anyone. I know that if I ever have a friend like hhim, our friendship would be based on taking advantage on each other.I like the book but I really don't like the way he acts with others.

My Favorite Book

My favorite book is a novel written by Stephen Meyer, Twilight. It is a book that talks about thins girl named Bella that is moving to a new school in Forks, Washington. There she meets a guy named Edward Cullen that has a huge secret and revels it to Bella. It turns out to be that he is a vampire that has been alive for almost 117 years. Bella falls crazily in love with him and so did he. "And so the lion fell in love with the lamb.."said Edward. He has a BIG desire for tasting Bella's blood but he loves her and that overpasses all of those desires.
